We know it's a difficult time out there right now, and the arts are facing some of its hardest challenges in years. Theatres are closing, and grass-roots creatives are frequently priced out of taking part in events and festivals.
We try to keep participation fees for creatives taking part as low as possible, and offer most tickets for audiences on a "Pay What You Can" model so those who may otherwise find it hard to take part in the arts as either viewer or creative, can still find a place to perform or watch.
But this means we must find funding elsewhere to keep the festival running. We're all volunteers organising the event and don't draw a wage from it. Funding from official sources is getting harder and harder to secure, and there is a lot of competition for sponsorship.
You can help support the work we do at the Edinburgh Horror Festival by becoming a "Friend of the Festival". It costs just £13 a year and will go toward ensuring the Edinburgh Horror Festival can continue to keep itself accessible.
In return for your support, you will get your name listed as a Friend of the Festival in our print programme, and a shout out on our social media. You will also get the satisfaction of having helped a charity to ensure it remains a place where artists can stage their work with little financial risk, and where audiences can continue to pay what they can afford for shows.
Terms and conditions: Your subscription renews annually automatically but you can chose to cancel the renewal any time before the renewal date. Once paid, the subscription is non-refundable. You are donating to a charity registered in Scotland. Access to the programme will be via the website and will be at least one week before the public announcement is made. You must be over 18 to become a Friend of the Festival, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
